The Art of Spanish Shopping

In Favourite finds on June 21, 2012 at 12:43 am

ImageDuring university studies I travelled extensively throughout Spain, and recently lived there for four months. And on each visit I fall in love with Spanish shopping all over again. Spanish style can be chic and preppy but it always has a twist. It has a sense of fun and playfulness that reflects the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle of eternal sunshine, eating late and going out.

Above all, the art of Spanish dressing is how to look hot whilst staying cool from your 8am café con leche to your 3am sangria. Shops on the high street are countless and while many of them have now colonized the world high street fashion (think retail giants like Zara, Mango, Massimo Dutti, Desigual, etc), there are still many that remain exclusive to Spain.

My favourites include Shana and Blanco, both offer super trendy clothes that does not break your bank. The picture above is from Blanco’s latest ad campaign for Spring/Summer 2012. The face of it is the beautiful Russian model Irina Shayk, and the outfits in the line offer chic everyday staples that integrate wearable fashion and gorgeous colours. Definitely a brand that should expand beyond the Spanish borders.
